If the all-metal "deep steering wheel" from Kamei looked too martial, you could also attach a textile version to your VW - at least if you believe this contemporary caricature. Who could have guessed at the time that neither the one nor the other material would prevail for aerodynamic body attachments. And the lace-trimmed air scoop also points in the wrong direction...
