Open and unlimited classic meetings are preferred (question of the week)
A large number of classic and vintage car events take place every weekend, some are brand meetings, others focus on a vehicle characteristic or an era. Still others focus on the cars of a particular nation. The organizers are usually primarily driven by their own preferences, but do they also meet the needs of classic and vintage car drivers with their approach?
We wanted to know from Zwischengas readers what kind of meeting they prefer and asked a "question of the week" : What kind of meeting do you prefer to go to?
According to 46 percent of the 161 answers collected, the most popular seem to be open meetings where anything goes and where vehicles are welcome regardless of make, type, era or design.
In second place, with 16.1 percent of the votes, are country-specific meetings, e.g. American meetings, British car meetings or Italian meetings.
Close behind with 13.7 percent of the votes are era-specific but brand-independent meetings, e.g. youngtimer meetings or pre-war meetings.
Brand/type-specific events (e.g. Mercedes Pagoda) and brand-specific meetings (e.g. Rolls-Royce events) followed at a considerable distance with 5.6 percent of the votes, while model-specific meetings (e.g. convertible meetings, plastic car meetings, etc.) were less popular (1.9 percent).
At 12.4 percent of votes, the proportion of those for whom no answer was suitable was high. Perhaps they never go to meetings at all or they would prefer a different mix of attributes. Or they do not have a classic of their own.
Graphically, the result looks like this:
The next "question of the week" has already been posed. This time we want to know (not entirely unselfishly) how Zwischengas readers feel about the increasingly frequent use of QR codes (e.g. on cars or event notices).
And, of course, the results of all previous "Questions of the Week" can be read at any time in the corresponding topic channel.
