Off the ground

Jumping pictures are popular because they look so dynamic. But they pose considerable challenges for photographers. Almost 60 years ago, NSU even felt compelled to provide a comprehensive explanation of the picture above:
"The factory photographers travel far and wide across the country to capture such a snapshot of the new NSU Prinz 1000 TT on the plate, After all, short exposure times and long focal lengths are not the only things that matter: The NSU Prinz 1000 TT - like all NSU cars - is equipped with independent suspension on all four wheels, which thanks to their carefully tuned suspension characteristics remain safely on the ground even on undulating roads. And "jumps" - for example arched bridges as relics from Roman times - have become rare even in remote areas of southern Germany. But they are necessary to give a car so much vertical effect that it can - for once - get all fours in the air."
There is nothing to add to this, except that the photo can of course also be found in high resolution in the Zwischengas archive .
