A certain concours fatigue is noticeable (question of the week)
08/20/2019
In recent years, the number of beauty contests for old cars, also known as Concours d'Elégance, has increased significantly. Many classic car meetings and events have added the show to their program as an additional attraction. However, it seems that a certain concours fatigue has set in. We wanted to know from Zwischengas readers whether this is really the case as part of a " Question of the Week" .
And indeed, just over half of the 207 respondents said that there were definitely or rather too many of these events. 27.5 percent think that cars are for driving and not for standing anyway, while 24.2 percent consider the number of these beauty events to be too high, which has a negative impact on their attractiveness.
27.5 percent are unsure whether there are enough or too many of these events, as this is a good way to show off your car. But perhaps more would be less.
15.5 percent think that there can't be too many of these events, as this would offer more choice and you could show off your car more and at different events.
And for 5.3 percent, none of the answers given applied.
However, a certain concours fatigue can certainly be read from the answers. Here are the results in graphic form:
Of course, we have already posted the next question of the week. This time we want to know which type of classic/youngtimer driving event attracts the most interest .
And of course you can still read the results of the previous questions of the week in the dedicated topic channel.
