No, Monteverdi Sierras are not a dime a dozen. Around 20 examples were produced in the late 1970s (built from around 1977 to 1982) as a saloon, convertible and estate, with Chrysler supplying the floor assemblies and V8 drive technology including parts of the bodywork, Fissore designing the bodywork according to Peter Monteverdi's design ideas and the interior being trimmed for luxury and style by Monteverdi.
The saloon cost CHF 69,200, while the convertible was a full CHF 20,000 more expensive in 1978.
And such a Sierra is currently on offer on the ricardo.ch auction platform . You could bid as little as CHF 1.00, but now, on August 19, 2019, the (148) bids have already reached 37,000. Still a bargain, because not all Monteverdi Sierra have survived and the car on offer has been restored regardless of the cost.
