Are concours organizers on the wrong track?

According to Zwischengas readers, the organizers of the major Concours d'Elégance are using the wrong criteria. For the readers who responded to our survey last week , restoration quality is certainly not a key indicator, in contrast to the custom celebrated in many places.
Elegance and beauty should carry the highest weight and ideally the car should be in pristine original condition.
In other words, Zwischengas readers would prefer a slightly weathered Fiat 8V Zagato to a perfectly restored, less elegant car. And they think the same should apply to beauty contests.
