Forgotten car magazines - Motor Rundschau
06/20/2014
It was published from 1947 to 1969, the Motor Rundschau. It was never thick, not really in color either, but always informative. Tests were sometimes dealt with on one page, occasionally on two and rarely on more than two. Nevertheless, you always got the essentials. And technology was always the focus, not emotions or style issues. Racing was only dealt with in passing, with preference given to cars for the masses, but exceptions proved the rule.
The Brönner-Umschau Group, which was active in both the publishing and printing business, kept Motor Rundschau as one of over 20 specialist magazines.
The monthly magazine was eventually absorbed by Motorsport-Verlag's MOT, which also only just survived the turn of the century. MOT was also discontinued in 2006.
