The most popular blog posts in 2022
01/04/2023
Every morning we publish one of these short articles, sometimes commenting on the events of the day, sometimes reminiscing about the past. These blog posts often have to do with things that catch our eye and happen to us.
It's fascinating to see what our readers like and resonate with. We are therefore very excited at the end of each year when we evaluate which of our posts have been read and how often.
In 2022, there was a clear winner, namely the article on the announced ban on combustion engines in the EU by 2035. This blog was read almost a quarter of a million times.
It was followed at a considerable distance by our April 1st joke about a minimum mileage requirement for classic cars.
In third place was an article on a sports car driving report from the 1980s. This was followed by a short blog with the question "Would you have recognized this car?", which was about a prototype that anticipated the shape of the Peugeot 305 a few years in advance.
The blog in fifth place reports on a Chrysler Windsor that was rescued from a corrugated iron shed. Keyword: barn find.
Sixth place went to the blog that told of the yellow LED that Volkswagen once installed as a high beam warning and which caused a lot of resistance.
Finally, 7th to 10th place went to an article on tests of classic cars that are popular today, a blog with special memories of the VW 1500, a short article on the three-liter car of the 1980s and some thoughts on why it's not just the condition that matters , but also the car.
The common factor in the ten most-read articles? We don't really know, because we think that some of the other 370 or so blogs in 2022 would have been at least as worth reading. Perhaps it was the title, in combination with the chosen image.
We therefore illustrated this post with a picture from one of the less frequently read blogs, which was about a prototype built by Friedrich Eugen Maier in 1935.
