And the Lord said: Let there be light. And there was light
The 26th edition of the Planai-Classic 2023 was launched yesterday at the traditional race up the Dachstein with an absolute record number of 64 teams from six nations in 20 different makes of car built between 1950 and 1972.
The first major special stage took place on the Dachstein toll road in complete darkness on a low-snow but slightly icy road surface. And lo and behold, the two rookies Florian Pachleitner and Christopher Wischenbart pulled off a minor miracle with the Porsche, completing the course with a sensational zero penalty points, which means a time difference of 0.0 seconds. Congratulations!
Not everyone managed the night-time mountain stage as flawlessly as the two youngsters, as the first cold deformations were already registered.
However, the cool night was absolutely starry and beautiful at this altitude, even without a car....
P.S. Of course we will publish a nice review of this winter rally in a few days.
