The roots of the first Range Rover go back to the 1950s, but serious work towards the luxury off-roader we know today began around the mid-1960s. It was probably at this time that the design model shown was created in variants. While the left-hand side was probably discarded, the right-hand side shows clear similarities with the later production model.
The first prototype was driven in the fall of 1967, at the end of 1968 it was given the name Range rover and in June 1970 it was presented to the surprised public for the first time as a "new type of off-road sedan". The rest, as they say, is history. Of course, we have already published several articles about this special milestone.
