Would you have recognized him?

Admittedly, it is not too difficult to recognize the car that our colleagues from "auto motor und sport" anticipated in August 1972. The drawing even made it onto the cover of No. 16/1972. It was, of course, the new Opel Kadett. It was officially unveiled at the IAA in September 1973, but the drawings came pretty close to reality, at least in the 3/4 view from the front.
The line was between the Ascona and the Rekord II, but was even more striking in detail, wrote the ams editors. While the silhouette of the sedan was well executed, the draftsmen were a little off the mark with the rear end when they predicted the bearing edges, which were not to be found on the finished Opel Kadett C. Otherwise, the writers had a good nose, as a photo of the first appearance at the IAA 1973 clearly shows.
Of course, we have already published several articles on the Kadett C, for example on the Coupé, but also on the Aero. However, we are still waiting for a truly original Rallye 2.0E or 1900 GT/E ...
