Barbecue in December (car connoisseur quiz)
12/10/2022
The radiator grille is perhaps the most important design element on the face of a car. At the time of the obligatory circular headlights, it offered more formal freedom than any other component on the front of the vehicle. It determines whether a car looks friendly or grim; whether it appears shy or self-confident in the rear-view mirror. In its natural environment of headlights, hood and bumper, we can immediately recognize a car by its radiator grille. But what about when we only see the grille without any distinctive reference points or brand logo?
Surprisingly often, all that remains is a rectangle or an oval. This is because not every brand, like BMW or Alfa Romeo, established a typical shape early on that can only be recognized by its outline. Even Aston Martin has a few formal grille siblings.
We have selected ten more or less characteristic radiator grilles that we believe can be clearly identified. Would you like to give it a try?
