The forgotten coupés (car connoisseur quiz)
03/07/2021
Although coupés often aroused more fascination and desire than simple saloons, a considerable number of these cars built for discerning customers were forgotten, or at least almost forgotten. Or would you have recognized the car pictured here?
It is a Brasinca 4200 GT, a good six dozen of which were produced between 1964 and 1966. The Brasinca , which was manufactured in Brazil, did not have a plastic body, but a sheet steel body. An in-line six-cylinder engine from Chevrolet hummed under the hood and, with up to 170 hp, provided a sporty driving performance. The coupé, which anticipated the lines of the later Jensen Interceptor to some extent, was not a commercial success. That is why the brand and model fell into oblivion, like so many other coupés of the post-war decades.
We have dug some of them out of our archive and put them together for a new car connoisseur quiz. The photos are of cars from five nations and it is now up to you, the Zwischengas readers, to recognize them.
