Safety gain clearly demonstrated

Sometimes we suppress it, sometimes it is brought to our attention. The passive safety of cars has increased enormously over the last 50 years.
A video on YouTube (below) shows this particularly impressively. The gain in occupant safety alone in a 2016 Nissan compared to one from 1992 is enormous.
It looks even worse when a 1959 Chevrolet Bel Air crashes into a 2009 Chevrolet Malibu.
You wouldn't want to be sitting in a Rover 100 either if a crash with a solid object was imminent. And even in the Ford Fiesta, the safety gains that have been made over the last few decades are huge.
Most drivers of classic cars are well aware of these safety deficits, which is why they drive with more foresight and caution.
