Pragmatic solutions instead of lots of technology

In modern cars, ventilation control is the task of quite a lot of computing power. Sensor data, settings and other factors are optimized against each other to ultimately provide the driver with ventilated feet or a cool head.
It used to be easier, as the ventilation flaps in front of the doors on the Fiat 500 B show. A small lever allows the flaps to be opened, while a net ensures that no large insects are sucked in.
And when you have ventilated enough, you simply close the flap again. Of course, it's not completely draught-free and probably not so practical in the rain, but it's certainly easy to repair.
