Cycling seems to be on the rise. It is being promoted by cities and politicians and is seen as the solution to increasingly congested roads and our environmental problems.
According to a study by "Kantar" , cycling is obviously the future and more and more road users want to do without their cars and cycle more instead. According to Kantar, by 2030 the proportion of the population who want to cycle will increase by 18 percent, while the group of car drivers will decrease by 10 percent.
However, according to an interview with an economist, the classic car will survive, even though the population has long since switched to electric cars, self-driving vehicles and public transport/bikes. That's a good thing.
So the picture above fits perfectly!
In addition, the parallels between the TVR Grantura and the Orbea racing bike are much greater than one would think at first glance. Both rely on plastic, the TVR on polyester for the bodywork, the racing bike on carbon for the frame. Both use hydraulically actuated disc brakes, in the case of the TVR this was still considered really innovative, in the case of the bike it is the current trend for the more expensive products. And yes, they are both blue, which is a nice color! In addition, they were of course both built to be as light as possible - after all, excess weight is frowned upon in both sports cars and racing bikes. Both are not primarily designed for fetching bread rolls and commuting, but rather for sporty progress.
It is certainly no coincidence that many classic car owners also have a racing bike in their garage. And they are obviously well equipped for the future if the studies are right ...
