How about a Bristol collection?
09/01/2018
The sports cars of the British car brand Bristol are among the exotic and often have something quirky about them. It all began in the years after the war, when the aircraft manufacturer began to apply its aerodynamic expertise to automobiles. The Bristol 400 was the brand's first sports car with above-average streamlining and speed. It owed its power to a pre-war German development, as the basic design of the in-line six-cylinder engine was developed by BMW.
Over the years, many other models were created, such as the 404, 409 and 412, which moved away from six-cylinder engines and instead used American eight-cylinder engines. However, the cars always remained exclusive and the production numbers were small. An interesting story.
Bonhams is auctioning offa small collection of these rare sports cars - 400, 404, 409, 411 and 412 - at comparatively affordable prices of between £15,000 and £100,000 on the occasion of the Goodwood Revival . Certainly worth a second look for fans of exotic British brands.
