According to a popular legend, Tazio Nuvolari used the red-clad headlights of his Alfa Romeo 6C 1750 at the Mille Miglia to demoralize his opponent Achille Varzi.
He would sneak up in the night, sometimes without his headlights switched on, only to suddenly fade out and cheekily overtake his opponent. These shining red headlights must have seemed like the eyes of the devil to Varzi.
But they also look good during the day, these red headlight caps, as demonstrated at the Classic Gala Schwetzingens last weekend.
