Germe more visible technology in classic car museums (Question of the week)
Automobile museums are popular and numerous in our part of the world. Most of them are publicly accessible automobile collections, but there are also state and public institutions in the museum environment.
However, not all potential visitors are satisfied with just a line-up of old cars as an attraction. In a question of the week , we asked Zwischengas readers if museums should offer more and what that should be.
And, good to know for the museum makers, a quarter (24 percent) are actually satisfied with what is on display today and would prefer nothing new.
However, the proportion of 177 respondents who would like to see technical insights in the form of see-through or cutaway models was slightly higher (34 percent), similar to those that were once shown at motor shows.
14 percent would like to ride in a classic car, 10 percent would like to see more multimedia/film material, 6 percent modern visualization technology à la virtual reality (3D glasses, etc.) and 5 percent would like to drive themselves (in a simulator). And then there were the 4 percent who would appreciate other attractions.
