One in ten people have problems with their classic car at customs (Question of the week)
12/18/2017
Time and again we hear about adventurous stories in connection with old cars crossing borders. Now we want to know whether these are isolated cases or whether many classic car/youngtimer drivers have already had difficulties with their properly registered classic. So the question of the week was:" Have you ever had problems with your classic/young car at customs?"
One in ten people have actually had problems at customs with their properly registered classic or vintage car. That is not a small number when you consider the number of cars that pass through every year.
Four fifths report no problems, i.e. they have never had any problems crossing the border.
Somewhat surprisingly, however, nine percent of the 189 respondents selected "No answer describes my situation". Our interpretation is that these were probably not properly redeemed cars but import or export problems. Perhaps we will have to look at this type of question in more detail at another time.
For the sake of completeness, we are also showing the result of the last "Question of the Week" here in graphic form:
The next question of the week is already up, and this time it's once again about looking into the crystal ball, as we want to know from our readers how the value of a Mercedes-Benz 300 SL Roadster (W198) is likely to develop over the next 20 years.
And of course you can still read all the previous results of the "Questions of the Week" in the corresponding topic channel.
