You always enjoy going to the classic car museum (question of the week)
Over the last 20 years, many museums showcasing old cars have been established, some as private initiatives, others with public funding. Existing museums have been extensively rebuilt and renovated, while smaller museums have disappeared. But how great is the need to view cars that are actually there to be driven standing up in museums?
In our "Question of the Week" , we wanted to know how often Zwischengas readers visit classic/youngtimer museums each year.
Only 7% of respondents said they never go to a museum at all.
A third (33%) visit a classic/youngtimer museum once a year.
A good quarter (27%) visit the museum twice a year.
A fifth (20%) visit the museum three to four times.
This means that four fifths, or 80%, visit a classic/youngtimer museum at least once a year. So people really enjoy going to museums in this country.
Real professional visitors are 2% who go to the museum five to ten times, and a further 2% who go more than ten times.
A high 4% of the 236 respondents were unable to find a suitable answer, some of whom probably own a museum themselves.
