Between 1901 and 1961, the "Mondial de l'Automobile", the Paris Motor Show, was held in the "Grand Palais", the exhibition building with a generously glazed roof that was once built for the 1900 World's Fair.
The fact that the Tour Auto cars are allowed to park in the same building must be seen as a tremendous honor. They are parked where Saoutchik, Bugatti and Lagonda showed their latest creations over a century ago.
The dazzling competition cars of the past are certainly a nice counterpoint to the catwalk collections that Chanel shows during Paris Fashion Week.
We will report in detail on this year's Tour Auto and show more of Antoine Dellenbach's beautiful photos.
