Do you remember? Do you hear the catchy tune when you sing "Allianz-versichert" and raise the pitch on the second syllable of "Allianz"?
Almost everyone was familiar with the German insurer's charmingly staged commercials in the 1980s. Whether it was a VW Beetle convertible driving into a market stall, a businessman slipping on a banana, a sailing ship in distress, Hans being newly born or a neighborhood dispute getting out of hand in the garden, the short stories were wittily told and always accompanied by the same melody but constantly changing lyrics.
