The joy of driving through the pass in a classic car
07/14/2015
Driving a classic car on public roads is becoming increasingly demanding, not least because of the steady increase in traffic and the growing use of surveillance technology, which can turn even a minor unintentional speeding offense into an expensive fine.
A ride on a mountain pass is a wonderful change of pace, especially when the traffic is limited. You don't have to break the speed limit on a mountain to enjoy driving. Curve follows curve, gradient follows gradient, there is always something to do, the mechanics are challenged, as is the driver. This is a lot of fun and also reminds us of the original form of driving, where you were primarily concerned with the course of the road and not with regulations and restrictions.
The pictures were taken on the Flüela Pass, which runs from Davos to Susch and leads up to 2383 meters above sea level.
