Electronic improvements in classic cars tolerated
Surprisingly for some, Zwischengas readers are much more open to improvements to classic cars through the use of modern electronics than purists would perhaps like.
Two thirds tolerate modifications to classic cars as long as they are not visible from the outside and do not change the character of the car. An electronic ignition that works with different maps, a hidden navigation system or an optimized radio are all right with 68% of respondents to our question of the week , while 18% insist on the original condition and a further 17% argue even more freely along the lines that fun is the main thing, originality is secondary.
So will we soon be confronted with beeping classic cars because they have (hidden) parking sensors? Probably not, because even the two-thirds who are quite sympathetic to selective modifications and improvements are unlikely to go that far.
