Classic car buyers are not stingy
05/19/2014
Classic cars can certainly cost something! 62,000 euros or CHF 75,000 is what the average Zwischengas reader would spend on their dream classic car - at least that's the result of our survey last week , if the individual answers are added up arithmetically.
However, this high figure belies the fact that, according to the answers we analyzed, around 40% are willing to spend a maximum of 25,000 euros or CHF 30,000 if the classic car they want comes up for sale. However, a quarter can also imagine spending up to EUR 50,000 or CHF 60,000. Another "small" quarter could even be persuaded to go as high as EUR 100,000 or CHF 120,000.
Above that, however, the air becomes thinner, as the overall proportion of buyers who would be prepared to spend over EUR 100,000 (CHF 120,000) and more is less than a tenth.
For the auction houses Bonhams, RM or Gooding, however, this tenth should be enough to continue doing good business ...
