The beautiful "Bodies" from Fiberfab
05/06/2014
Some things just only work in one language. While the Americans (or English) can use "body" to describe both car bodies and (human) bodies, this only works for us in everyday language. That's why the advertisements that Fiberfab placed in 1968 don't work in German.
However, Fiberfab was well known in Europe, not least with the Fiberfab Bonito. But other bodies never made it across the Atlantic.
But let's leave the technology aside for a moment and enjoy the original full-page advertisements from 1968, excerpts of which are shown here.
A few words about Fiberfab, which began building plastic bodies for Triumph, MG, Austin-Healey and Volkswagen chassis in 1964. The company was very successful and produced a whole range of bodies and later even its own chassis until 1983. Well-known models include the Bonanza GT, the Jamaican, the Vakyrie, the Caribee/Banshee and the Avenger.
The Fiberfab advertising subjects can of course also be found in their original size and in their entirety in the Zwischengas archive.
