Number 1 lives - return of the first Pagoda to Stuttgart

In March 1963, the new Mercedes-Benz sports car model 230 SL (internally W 113) was presented to the world in Geneva. For this purpose, Daimler-Benz AG sold the chassis 113042-10-000001 to the Zurich branch, which exhibited this convertible, sprayed in a light color and equipped with a hardtop, in Geneva. The car was later sold, changed hands several times and at some point even changed color.
Today, the car is back on the road in Germany. This weekend it will be on the stand of the SL-Club Pagode e.V. at the Retro Classics in Stuttgart. This brings us full circle, although an even rounder version might have been the presentation of the car at this year's Geneva Motor Show. But Mercedes-Benz didn't want to deal with old sheet metal there. What a pity! But all the better for the visitors in the Swabian metropolis of Stuttgart.
Incidentally, there were several 230 SLs at the Geneva Motor Show in 1963 , but according to various photo comparisons, chassis 1 must have been the car that was exhibited with a hardtop at the time.
