A rare encounter

Of course there are coincidences, but some encounters really are extremely rare. A Porsche 911 Targa was still really rare on our roads in 1975. But in comparison, the Alfa Romeo Montreal was a real exotic. Alfa Romeo produced just 3,925 eight-cylinder coupés between 1971 and 1977.
If a statistician were to calculate the probability of an Alfa Romeo Mont real meeting a 911 Targa on the same bend when taking a photo for a Porsche brochure, the percentage would be pretty low, comparable to winning a six in the lottery. But because there are still lottery winners every weekend, a Montreal driver and a Porsche driver can meet by chance.
