Latin for Opel record drivers?
12/20/2012
It would be unthinkable to have a car advertisement today with a Latin slogan. "Semper paratum esse!" was the title of an Opel Rekord advertisement in 1962. In German, this means "always be ready", or as the Opel copywriters put it: "Be ready every hour, from 0-24 hours. At any time of the year, from January 1 to December 31, the doctor's car is on standby".
And Opel gave three good reasons why a doctor should drive an Opel Rekord in 1962: 1) Always be ready, 2) Driving safety through directional stability and braking power, as well as operational safety and finally 3) Stability of value despite heavy use with minimal maintenance.
Yes, it's been a long time since doctors drove Opels ....
