Many years ago, go-karts raced on snow
Admittedly, this picture won't win the Pulitzer Prize or a photo competition. But it fits the current weather and the cold snap.
What's more, it's not about the quality of the picture but about the subject matter, namely "go-karting" on snow. In 1963, a few resourceful people in Saanenmöser had the idea of using the go-karts that had just arrived in Europe from the USA on snow. To ensure their traction, studded tires were fitted and chain constructions were invented. It was supposed to have been great fun, at least according to media reports at the time.
The only question is, why hasn't anyone tried it since?
