Impressions of the Fribourg classic car and parts market - Zwischengas present
03/31/2011
The 36th edition of the Oldtimer and Parts Market in Fribourg (OTM Fribourg) took place from March 26 to 27, 2011. Switzerland's largest classic car market has been a firm fixture on the agenda for many owners of historic vehicles for years and regularly attracts an enthusiastic audience from Switzerland and our neighboring countries.
The proven mix of club shows, vehicles for sale, spare parts, accessories, tools, literature and the presence of various service providers and companies specializing in classic cars make Fribourg worth a visit every year.
As usual, this year too, the spectators crowd in front of the entrance before the doors open on Saturday. The first two hours after the start are characterized by a certain amount of hustle and bustle and some people are happy to find that long sought-after, rare spare part and grab it while they have the chance.
On Sunday afternoon, with the end of the fair approaching and most of the stands still well-stocked, the hour of the "bargain hunters" arrives - this is when some sellers part with an item for less than the price they had originally hoped for, just to avoid having to take the "heavyweight" home again.
On both days, there was also an impressive selection of classic cars and modern classics for all visitors to marvel at and buy.
Every now and then, the rattling, roaring or roaring of a fired-up engine ripped through the babble of voices in the crowd. Depending on the displacement and maximum speed of the demonstration vehicle, the spontaneous applause of the audience is stronger or weaker, but in any case the purchased vehicles can only be picked up after the end of the trade fair, so the lucky buyer can or must wait until Sunday evening in anticipation.
Zwischengas.com had its own (small) stand for the first time this year to draw attention to the services of our platform, make contacts and convince new users. Interesting discussions took place on both days and we hope to be present at trade fairs such as the OTM in the future as well, whenever possible.
