03/12/2011
The 19th Ennstal-Classic (www.ennstal-classic.at), which takes place this yearfrom July 13 to 16, 2011, promises to be a new highlight in its history since 1993, when the first Ennstal Classic took place with 35 cars.
Over 350 candidates are trying to get one of the coveted 210 starting places. The organizers were forced to open up the starting field from 210 to 225 places, but not everyone will be able to take part. 48 automobile brands will be represented in the field, the Mercedes Museum is sending a 1902 Simplex with chain drive, BMW-Classic is celebrating 75 years of the BMW 328 with an armada of these fantastic pre-war sports cars. As always, there will be many celebrities among thedrivers, including Derek Bell, Sir Stirling Moss, Dr. Wolfgang Porsche and Adrian Newey.
The spectators will be offered a lot, in the center of course will be the vehicles, including 12 Mercedes-Benz, 24 Jaguar from XK 120, over C-Type to E-Type, 14 Ferrari and 10 Aston Martin, just to name a few.
So make a note of the date in your diary immediately (note: the program on the poster shown is still provisional) and at least travel to the Austrian equivalent of the Mille Miglia as a spectator. And to get you in the mood, we recommend our detailed report from the Ennstal 2010 with 134 pictures!
