Porsche 914 - rocket launch?

The Porsche 914, also known as the VW Porsche, had an image problem throughout its life due to its proximity to the Volkswagen. Porsche tried to correct this with successful racing entries. In terms of architecture, the 914 was up to date and certainly more modern than the 911, but this only helped to a limited extent.
The advertisers from the Swiss Porsche importer therefore came up with the idea of associating the 914 with the 917, which had been successful at Le Mans , and came up with the title *Rocket Launch*.
Nevertheless, the 914 was discontinued after just seven years of production without a direct successor. The Porsche 924, which was introduced as the new entry-level model in 1976, suffered from the same problem throughout its life, yet I can't remember any advertisements where the 924 was parked next to a 936 or 962 ...
