Zwischen 1926 bis 1931 baute die englische Firma Rolls-Royce den Phantom I, einen Wagen der Luxusklasse mit Reihen-Sechszylindermotor. Konzeptionell war der Phantom mit dem Vorgänger Silver Ghost eng verwandt und er übernahm auch dessen Tugenden - Langlebigkeit und Zuverlässigkeit. Hergestellt wurde der Phantom I in England und in den USA, die Karosserien stammten u.a. von Park Ward, Mulliner, Hooper und Brewster. Dieser Bericht portraitiert einen Rolls-Royce Phantom I Ascot Tourer aus dem Jahr 1930, der einst in Amerika gebaut wurde, und schildert die Entstehungs- und Lebensgeschichte des Wagens.
