Only a quarter keep a classic car logbook (question of the month)
It always smacks a little of company cars, but it can also be very useful to keep a logbook for private cars too. Even if only to remind yourself years (or decades) later when and where you have been together. And to document your classic car extensively.
But how do classic car drivers deal with this topic? We wanted to find out more and asked a "question of the month": Do you keep a logbook for your classic car(s)?
As many as 17.1% of the (216) respondents keep a detailed logbook, with a further 8.3% documenting longer trips and journeys, but not every shorter trip.
32.4 % at least document fuel fill-ups and maintenance interventions.
38 % do without a logbook, they simply drive.
And 4.2% were unable to do anything with any of the answers.
Overall, significantly more than half document their journeys at least partially. It would certainly be interesting to know whether this proportion is increasing or decreasing. Our hypothesis would be that it is decreasing.
