Driving down memory lane

When we recently carried out a photo session with the 1994 TVR Griffith 500, now 32 years old, in preparation for an article in Swiss Classic Revue , it felt very much like "déja vu" to me.
No wonder, after all, I owned a Griffith 500 myself, which I took over as a new car in 1996. And as a true TVR fan, I naturally went to the factory in Blackpool to watch my sports car being built. There I was able to watch the chassis being welded together, wiring harnesses being configured on a nail board and the cars being painted.
And I was shown my car, which was half-finished in the hall.
And as a special feature, I was also able to photograph the Griffith, i.e. the grimace that each of these modern roadsters had painted behind the driver's seat.
However, it was several long months before I was able to take delivery of the car in Switzerland. After two years, I sold it again anyway, only to buy it back a few years later. But even the second time around, I didn't remain faithful to the convertible painted in "Brookland Racing Green". What a shame, really. But it went to another enthusiastic TVR fan.
Around 30 years later, the blue Griffith 500 I photographed felt exactly the same as it did back then. The impetuous power delivery and the hoarse V8 sound brought back many fond memories. The British have a wonderful expression for this: "Driving down memory lane", which we have chosen as the title for this article. After all, zwischengas.com is now also available in English.
