Classic car drivers check their tire pressure every two months (Question of the week)
Every driver knows that the longevity of the tires themselves is important. And classic and modern car drivers know this too. At the same time, however, filling stations are making it increasingly difficult to inflate tires and only a few classic car owners have a garage with a compressor in front of the house.
We therefore wanted to find out how Zwischengas readers feel about checking air pressure and inflation and asked the "question of the month" : How often do you check the tire pressure on your classic car?
Over 300 readers answered the question. 36.2% check the tire pressure approximately every two months (plus at the start of the season in any case).
23.3 % check the tire pressure once a month, a further 3.8 % every one to two weeks.
6.6% make sure that the tire pressure is correct before every journey, while 5.0% let air into the tires every time they refuel.
Overall, more than 3/4 of classic and vintage car drivers check their tire pressure at least every two months or every time they fill up their tank.
A further quarter check once a year or at the latest when they have the impression that a tire is underinflated to ensure that there is enough air in the tire.
2.2% found that none of the answers given corresponded to their behavior.
