5000 days!

A reason to celebrate! And not because of the Swiss National Day. In fact, today, on August 1, 2024, Zwischengas will be exactly 5000 days old. The zwischengas.com platform went live on November 23, 2010, when we called the version "beta". Yes, that was actually almost 14 years ago.
And of course this anniversary, or rather the number of days that have passed, also calls for associations. There have already been a few cars with the number "5000" in the model designation.
For example, there was the Lamborghini Countach 5000 S (pictured above), a particularly powerful version of the Bertone wedge with the bull as its trademark.
Perhaps better known, at least in America, is the Audi 5000, which at the time was said to suddenly accelerate on its own without any assistance. This even led to legal proceedings.
And there was an Apollo 5000 GT, a sports car with an Italian dress and American engine technology.
But perhaps the most legendary is the Maserati 5000 GT, which had the engine technology of a racing car under the hood and was built just 34 times between 1959 and 1964 for the price of a nice family home. We have dedicated a very special article to it this week.
For now, let's lean back a little and remember some particularly beautiful days among the 5000 that have passed.
