Hinged doors? Scissor doors? Sliding doors? Self-moving doors? Butterfly doors? It's all well known. However, one concept has not yet made it into series production: the drawer door. A Zurich inventor came up with this concept in 1958 and allegedly even installed it in his VW. Instead of opening on two hinges, the entire side wall of the car, including the seat, is pulled out like a drawer. Of all the designs, this certainly offers the greatest ease of entry. But how do you close the door again after you have taken a seat?
