Would you rather have a Ferrari postcard or a Ferrari sports car?
12/13/2022
The question may be irritating and amusing, but it has a real background. At the Automobilia auction in Ladenburg on December 9/10, 2022, some postcards were also auctioned off, showing the early Ferrari 125 S, among others. This was obviously of great interest to a few collectors and enthusiasts, as EUR 102,374.40 was paid for two of these postcards. That is worthy of a world record.
Of course, these things are certainly rare, but so is a Ferrari 400i or a Ferrari Mondial in 1:1 scale, and such somewhat less sought-after roadworthy cars could have been bought for the same money as the postcards. There would probably even have been money left over that could have been invested in some automobilia.
But there were also clear differences in the postcards, because with a Ferrari 340 Mexico Vignale on it, it was "only" worth EUR 3571.20. And for the certainly super rare sales brochure for the Lamborghini 350 GTV (nota bene the prototype and first Lambo ever) only EUR 2618.88 had to be paid.
If you would like to see for yourself what was offered and paid for in Ladenburg, please visit the auction house's website . Some lots can still be bought now ...
