The best-known six-wheeled car is certainly the Tyrrell P34 Formula 1 monoposto from 1976, which even won a Grand Prix.
There were also the two attempts by Williams and March with two rear axles, but they never took part in a race.
There was not much going on in this area on the road, apart from a few pickups there were only two failed attempts with the Panther Six (1976) and the Ford Seattle (1962).
The one-off Mercedes-Benz shown here , the six-wheeled 190 SL from 1957, was presented for the first time at the O-iO in Sarnen over the Whitsun weekend. Or maybe not.
