Better no stickers on the paintwork (question of the week)
Whether travel destinations, decorations, sponsor branding or simply start numbers, stickers are applied to car paintwork time and time again. Often little thought is given to how these embellishments might affect the original or restored car paintwork and the stickers cannot always be removed later without leaving a trace.
We therefore asked Zwischengas readers what they think about stickers on the paintwork and how they feel about them in general. The question of the week was : Would you put stickers on the paintwork of your classic car?
The answers clearly show the skepticism of classic car and youngtimer owners. 25.4 percent would not put anything on the car unless it was already on it when it was delivered.
37 percent would stick something on the windows at most, but would spare the paintwork because they are worried about damage.
31.4 percent take a more relaxed view. 26 percent would also apply stickers to the paintwork to give it a contemporary look. And 5.4 percent think that stickers are part of the individualization of a car.
6.3 percent of the 335 Zwischengas readers who took part in the survey did not agree with any of the answers.
