Oldtimers and youngtimers also get names (question of the week)
Car manufacturers have almost always given their vehicles special model designations, often simply numerical specifications or terms that have been used thousands of times. Because these model designations often did not have a particularly emotional effect, car owners began early on to give their purchased car their own personal name or even a nickname to emphasize its individuality. It didn't matter whether it was a new or used car.
But what about when the cars get older? In a " question of the week" , we wanted to find out whether Zwischengas readers give their old cars their own names.
In fact, around a third of the 325 Zwischengas readers who responded do so.
However, exactly 60 percent do not give their old car an individual name; the manufacturer's name is enough for them.
And for the sake of completeness, it should be added that 6.2 percent were unable to answer the question or did not find a suitable answer.
