Why do you do this to yourself?

Sometimes even passionate classic car drivers ask themselves why they actually do this to themselves. By "that", of course, we mean driving the old car or owning the historic vehicle.
The reason for dissatisfaction can be a breakdown, which can happen from time to time. Or you might miss the comfort of a modern everyday car. Or the mechanic once again tells you all the things that need to be done to the old vehicle. There are plenty of reasons for frustration. All it takes is a long traffic jam or a spare part that is not available at short notice.
A classic car cannot be compared with a new or nearly new car. Its technology is 30 or more years old and even if it has been well maintained, it can still be a bitch from time to time. And some of the accessories we take for granted today weren't even invented half a century ago ...
But when the car is running again, the engine hums happily and the gears engage almost automatically, all the frustration is soon forgotten and you don't want to miss driving the old car any more.
