Many classic car owners are frustrated by driving in modern road traffic
Everyday traffic is becoming denser, increasingly monitored and altogether more hectic. While modern cars are taking over more and more functions themselves and relieving the driver with all kinds of little helpers, in a classic car you are completely responsible for driving safely, but you also need greater distance and consideration from other road users. But this is often lacking. But how do classic car owners react? We wanted to know in a " question of the week " : Does driving a classic car in modern road traffic frustrate you?
14 percent are tired of driving in modern everyday traffic and avoid such journeys.
Almost 55 percent of the 565 respondents stated that they are at least partially frustrated by modern everyday traffic and avoid traffic jams and peaks.
This means that almost 70 percent feel that the joy of driving a classic car is limited by the dense and impatient everyday traffic. However, this does not mean that the joy of driving an old car has to be taken away.
Around 30 percent do not feel restricted by modern traffic and also use the old car in everyday traffic, while 1.6 percent did not find any of the answers convincing.
The fact that so many readers took part and that more than two thirds feel that driving a classic car is partially or severely restricted by the hustle and bustle of modern traffic shows that this is an issue that will continue to occupy us in the future.
