No, this is not a picture from the past - Samsung washing machines and Canon printers did not yet exist when the VW Beetle 1303 was sold in the early 1970s.
But it obviously makes sense for the Swiss retailer Interdiscount to show a classic instead of a modern car in 2019, especially as today's cars hardly ever come in such a bright livery. And a Dacia Duster, you have to admit, is simply less appealing than a VW Beetle.
For the Volkswagen, of course, we hope that the boxes were empty.
Incidentally, the advertising is intended to boost home delivery, because you don't always have to pick everything up from the store yourself. The whole poster advertisement looks like this:
