Quite a lot of beetles at Lake Constance
The fact that the VW Beetle is one of the Germans' (and also the Swiss') favorite classic cars is immediately apparent when visiting Motorworld Classics Bodensee .
The Beetle is much better represented in the exhibition halls than the equally popular Pagoda from Mercedes-Benz or Italian exotics. Only the Porsche 911 is likely to have a stronger presence.
In contrast to the Porsche, however, the Volkswagen Beetle appears in Friedrichshafen in a wide variety of "installations", for example as a macabre barn find with a skeleton on the steering wheel or as a re-enacted advertising scene from an Allianz television commercial.
Whether closed or open, the Wolfsburg creepy-crawly always makes a good trap.
Even when electrified, it remains true to itself, i.e. its characteristic shape.

Some Beetles are even allowed to show their (rear) hood, as it is well known that the engines are often improved in one way or another.
The Beetle also proves how colorful the world of automobiles used to be.
And even outside the halls, the Beetle can often be seen, for example in the spectators' classic car parking lot or on the circuit (with a Kawasaki engine).
But a visit to Motorworld Classics Bodensee in Friedrichshafen is not only worthwhile for Beetle fans. It is a pleasant trade fair that is also suitable for a day out with the whole family. The doors to the classic car fair are open until Sunday evening (May 12, 2019).
