Mobility fairs have been around before

The IAA Mobility is currently taking place in Munich and will continue until September 12, 2021. With a new concept, the aim is to make up for lost ground since the last IAA in 2019. The trade fair has therefore been dedicated to mobility as a whole. We have already summarized our first impressionsin the form of a report.
However, the idea of a mobility trade fair is not entirely new. If you look back to the fifties and sixties, you will discover that the Geneva Motor Show, for example, not only showcased cars, trucks, commercial vehicles and motorcycles, but also boats, camping equipment and bicycles. Only the airplanes and rail-bound means of transport were missing to fully represent the world of mobility. And it has to be said that the automobile was naturally given considerably more space than other types of vehicle back then.
However, the organizers had it much easier 60 and more years ago, because the supplier landscape was much clearer and back then it was enough to simply display the products in a nicely arranged manner and in the smallest possible space.
