To wave or not to wave?

We all like classic cars to be as original as possible. The "indicators" are part of a VW Beetle from the fifties. However, many Beetles were already converted at that time and were then fitted with indicators on the front fenders and at the rear, just as Volkswagen used them on new cars in the 1960s.
Today, however, 60 years later, these indicators have a nostalgic appeal. However, anyone who ventures out into modern traffic in a car equipped only with indicators will soon realize that road users often overlook these signals to change direction because the small indicators on the roof are not even noticed. This can be dangerous, so classic car owners can't be blamed for opting for more visible indicators that are mounted where they are expected and where people are looking.
Of course, it is nice if the indicators are still there and also work, even though, at least in Switzerland, they are not allowed to light up at the same time as installed replacement indicators ...
